So welcome to my Blog. Its Monday 5th January 2009 and in 33 days I will be attempting to climb Kilimanjaro!
Over the next few days and weeks I hope to use these pages to record my thoughts, hopes, trials and tribulations as I attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain.
I hope this provides interest to the reader and doesn't become self indulgent, although I wont make any apologies for details relating to my experiences past present and future!

At 7.45am on Friday 13th Feb 2009, after exactly 8 hours of climbing I reached the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro

- Well I guess I've reached that point in my life when a portion of time is usefully spent on reflection in order for what follows to be even better than that which proceeded it. To the reader, however, if you are interested in some background, I'm a single dad (with two boys), Gemini, born in Liverpool, raised and educated in Sussex. Home is a small cottage in Bedfordshire, convenient for family, schools and work, all of which dominate most of my waking hours.
