On top of Kilimanjaro!
At 7.45am on Friday 13th Feb 2009, after exactly 8 hours of climbing I reached the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro

- Well I guess I've reached that point in my life when a portion of time is usefully spent on reflection in order for what follows to be even better than that which proceeded it. To the reader, however, if you are interested in some background, I'm a single dad (with two boys), Gemini, born in Liverpool, raised and educated in Sussex. Home is a small cottage in Bedfordshire, convenient for family, schools and work, all of which dominate most of my waking hours.

Well Simon I thought two children were enough it seems as you have adopted a tribe of your own.The is 8:50 am here snow is melting slowly, but there is more to come tonight. We all thought this is a great red nose day picture I hope the children were rewarded for their efforts, they all look so happy and excited to see you all. You will always get a warm welcome in Africa with regards to the children and people in general. Well an exciting day here we are visiting the local tribal ASDA.. for some people this is where bananas come from...I looked at your itinerary this morning and the start begins, we wish you well on the first part of your climb. Anna keeps going around saying uncle simon is in Africa...he is in Africa...she now can see you on the screen..the weather looks good, have a great day
